João Pedro Diaz, 32, has a vast experience as film and video editor since 2013. Currently based in Gent - Belgium, João is a rising young editor that has worked on international cinema productions, having co-edited the feature films "Secret Friend" (Maria Ramos, 2022 - Netherlands, Germany, Brazil), "Aurora" (João Vieira Torres, in post production - France, Portugal, Brazil), and edited "RIO by unique sights" (Rafael Duarte, 2021 - Brazil, exhibited in ARTE TV Channel) and "Beyond Dreams" (Rafael Duarte, 2019 - Brazil), for which he was nominated for Best Editing of a Documentary in North Europe Film Festival 2020; among others.
João has also worked on several corporate and advertising films, webseries, short films and music videos, for clients such as ITC/Maersk, Ericsson, Fila, Kikkoman, Universal Channel, World Quant, Vitruvian, Naturgy, Unimed, Brazilian Olympic Committee, singer Rubel and Revista Piauí.
He has in-depth technical experience in the Film and Television industry as assistant editor for feature films such as "Greice" (Leonardo Mouramateus, 2024), "Barba Ensopada de Sangue" (Aly Muritiba, in post production), "The Trial" (Maria Augusta Ramos, 2018), "Nona" (Camila Donoso, 2019 - Chile, France, South Korea, Brazil), "Lilith" (Bruno Safadi, 2022 - Brazil, Argentina), and on TV series directed by renowned directors Walter Salles and João Jardim.
João has a Master of Arts on Film Studies at the University of Amsterdam (2019), and has graduated on Film Studies at PUC-Rio (2014) and on Social Sciences at FGV (2013).
